Bengaluru-based Leafy Affair: Nature-Inspired Jewelry and Lifestyle Products

Supriya Donthi, a biotechnologist by training and a fervent admirer of nature, founded Leafy Affair in 2016. Donthi told Entrackr, "I've always enjoyed animals and plants, and at some point in my life, my interest stayed to that field. She also turned her appreciation of nature into jewellery.

According to Allied Market Research, the Indian costume jewellery market was valued at $1.78 billion in 2019 and is projected to reach $2.12 billion by 2027, increasing at a CAGR of 7% from 2019 to 2027.

Leafy Affair is focusing on the specialised botanical lifestyle and jewellery market within this vast industry. The company's founder and CEO, Donthi, stated that the target market represents about 10% of the whole market.

Bengaluru-based The flowers utilised are preserved and turned into jewellery by Leafy Affair, a preserved botanical lifestyle business that mostly sells jewellery. Also, it sells stationary, and it has plans to eventually add a selection of things for home decoration.

Each product is conceptualised internally, and when it is ready for production, the manufacturing team is informed. In India, it is difficult to find the majority of the botanicals utilised in these products. The majority of the raw materials are imported from Southeast Asia, the US, and the UK and go through the vendor's preservation procedure. Also imported from China are a few tiny items.

Now, the site offers 150 different products. According to the received order, these are sent both domestically and overseas. Customers in the US, UK, Singapore, Dubai, etc. have received deliveries of the company's goods. Each month, the company chooses and publishes new patterns, plants, and flower preservation techniques online.

The website averages 7000 daily views and 1500 monthly orders. "Last month, we had almost 1 lakh visitors to our page and 6,000 orders," said Donthi. The business saw such a large figure as a result of its appearance on Shark Tank the prior month.

In the upcoming month, this bootstrapped IIMB NSRCEL firm wants to increase its monthly orders to 4,000.

Due to its narrow market, the D2C corporation has very few direct rivals, much like Alankaara. A few of its indirect rivals are businesses like Melora, Giva, etc.

Along with goals to increase sales, the company wants to introduce a new home décor brand and a number of additional products to its stationary line. One of its long-term business ambitions is to open Leafy Affair Studio, an offline store, in Bangalore.
