HoloKitab is an Indian startup founded in 2020 by Dipanshu Bajaj and Nikhil Miglani. The company is focused on revolutionizing the education sector by using augmented reality to bring school books to life.

MISSION OF THE STARTUP

The mission of HoloKitab, an Indian startup founded in 2020 by Dipanshu Bajaj and Nikhil Miglani, is to revolutionize the education sector by using augmented reality to make learning more engaging and interactive for students.

HoloKitab believes that the traditional approach to education, where students are expected to memorize information from textbooks, is outdated and ineffective. They aim to provide a more innovative and effective way of learning, by using augmented reality to bring school books to life.

By using 3D images in school books, HoloKitab seeks to provide a more engaging and immersive learning experience for students. They believe that this will not only make learning more fun and enjoyable, but it will also help students to better retain information and apply it in real-life situations.

HoloKitab's mission is not just limited to making learning more engaging and interactive, but they also aim to make education more accessible. They are working to ensure that their products are affordable and accessible to students from all backgrounds.

BUSINESS MODEL

HoloKitab is an augmented reality company that specializes in education books and toy manufacturing. The company's business model is based on a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) model, where they charge a service fee for each product sold.

HoloKitab's augmented reality technology allows them to bring static images in school books to life, making learning more interactive and engaging. The company sells their products to schools, educational institutions, and individual customers. They charge a service fee of 100 rupees per globe sold, allowing them to generate recurring revenue and maintain a stable business model.

In addition to their augmented reality books, HoloKitab also manufactures educational toys. Their toys are designed to help children learn and develop essential skills, such as problem-solving, creativity, and critical thinking. They sell their toys through their online store and other e-commerce platforms.

HoloKitab's business model is based on providing high-quality, innovative products at an affordable price. The company is committed to making education more accessible and affordable for all students, and they aim to achieve this by providing their products at a reasonable price.

TARGET MARKET

The startup has a target market consisting of schools, educational institutions, and individual customers who are looking for innovative and engaging educational products.

The company's augmented reality books are designed for students of all ages, but they are particularly useful for younger children who are learning basic concepts, such as letters, numbers, and colors. HoloKitab's books are also useful for older students who are learning more advanced topics, such as science, geography, and history.

HoloKitab's educational toys are designed for children between the ages of 3 and 12 years old. The toys are designed to help children develop essential skills, such as problem-solving, creativity, and critical thinking.

The startup's target market consists of both urban and rural areas in India, as they are committed to making education accessible and affordable for all students, regardless of their location. They are particularly focused on reaching underserved communities and providing educational products that are affordable and accessible to all.

SALES AND REVENUE

In the financial year 2020-2021, the startup's sales were 2 lakhs rupees, which increased to 10 lakhs rupees in the following year 2021-2022. This increase in sales was due to the launch of three new books in addition to the initial book of alphabets that was launched in the first year.

The startup has projected sales of 3 lakhs rupees for the current financial year. In addition to book sales, HoloKitab has a contract with a company for globes, which can fetch them 4 to 5 lakhs rupees per year. They also charge a service fee of 10% of MRP for their books.

While HoloKitab is currently focused on a B2B model, selling their products to schools and educational institutions, they plan to extend their reach to the B2C model in the future. This expansion is expected to further increase their sales and revenue.

JOURNEY IN SHARK TANKS INDIA

The owners asked for 45 lakhs for 10% equity in their company.

The pitchers then countered with an offer of 45 lakhs for 20% equity in the company.

After some negotiation, the final deal was ultimately made with Namita for 45 lakhs in exchange for 25% equity in the company.
