A Nashik-based EV firm called Revamp Moto seeks to offer sustainable adaptive transportation solutions. The RM Buddie 25, priced at Rs 66,999, was the business's first item to be released in the Metaverse. RM Mitra, another product under development by Revamp Moto, is anticipated to go on sale in the first quarter of FY 2022–2023. Revamp Moto hopes to provide goods that would be used for last-mile delivery, shared mobility, and other business needs with electric two-wheelers like these. We discuss the distinctive and custom-made products that Pritesh Mahajan, CEO and Co-Founder of Revamp Moto, company has to offer.
A low-speed scooter with a top speed of 25 kmph is called the RM Buddie. It has a range of 70 km and a payload of 120 kg. On the other hand, the RM Mitra has a top speed of 65 kmph. Moreover, it has a 140 km range and a payload of 200 kg. These cars have one of the most tiny swappable battery packs that Revamp Moto designed and created in-house, according to the company.
In-house product development and design are priorities for Revamp Moto. Pritesh claims that the R&D for these products began in 2020 and that they have been designed from the ground up. He continued, "We have just hired a contract manufacturer to assemble our cars in the Bhiwandi site. The facility will be able to assemble 1,50,000 units each year. We will operate the facility at 50% capacity for the first year in order to optimise the assembly process based on the commitments we have from various clients. After a year, the factory will operate at full capacity in accordance with market demands. Our own technology and design are used in the battery packs. As the battery is essentially the heart of the car and we have seen numerous instances of thermal runaways happening in other products in the industry, we wanted to make sure that Revamp would continue to handle the battery.
The business will rely on bulk B2B orders for the time being, but individual B2C orders may be a goal in the future. Pritesh stated, "By the year 2025, we plan to remove 2,50,000 units of both cars from the road. The first strategy is for a direct-to-consumer (D2C) delivery approach with online reservations and cross-brand cooperation. We will have a dealership network set up for the market presence after 6 to 8 months of entering the market. We may use this information to assess the market before opening experience centres across the nation.
Pritesh responded, "The aim while creating our cars was to assure the union of good thought-through engineering, technology, modularity, and beautiful design," when we questioned him about the motivation behind the distinctive design of his goods. As he said, "We were focused on enabling our customers with maximum loading areas that may be customised as per their requirements. Apart from aesthetics, the design also has a utilitarian side. Our designers were influenced by the futuristic two-wheelers Ridecake Osa and UBCO 22, which were offered in the European and Australian markets, respectively, as well as the four-wheelers Canoo and Arrival from the US markets.
The items' ability to be customised with various accessories makes them even more intriguing. The vehicle becomes suitable for many needs and purposes as a result. The entire "Modular Utility Platform" concept was developed with the goal of enabling the user to easily alter the vehicle (using a variety of attachments) at their convenience and at home, without assistance from outside support (mechanic or dealership). With the debut of our products, buyers can acquire them through the company website using quick-release mechanisms that were locally designed and patented and are part of our 'Made to Adapt' products, according to Pritesh. This means that buyers can customise their two-wheelers both at the time of purchase and even after they have already paid for the vehicle.
Pritesh said when questioned about partnerships: "We have recently signed our tie-up with Panache Digilife that will help us to focus on R&D and continued development of our goods by contract producing the vehicles for us, which is a significant effort in and of itself. We are currently finalising our plans to deliver our electric vehicles right to customers' doorsteps by working with one of India's delivery startups.
To provide our consumers with no-cost and affordable EMI solutions for our products, we have partnered with a number of financing companies. To equip our EVs with a widespread battery changing infrastructure across India, we are in talks with a number of battery swapping businesses. To make sure that our clients have a hassle-free ownership experience with our goods, we have various collaborations planned that will concentrate on after-sales services, warranty, insurance, indigenous component development, and many other important areas.
"The challenge of utility purposes, which might be for B2B or B2C or both, is what our two-wheelers are focused on solving. These cars are adaptable enough to meet mobility needs even though our concentration is on developing utility vehicles. This pragmatic approach makes our EVs suitable for widespread use. Pritesh thinks that his goods might end up in the inventory of well-known businesses like Amazon, Flipkart, Swiggy, Zepto, Vogo, Qyk Bikes, and others.
